LAFCU History

Since 1935, Los Angeles firefighters and their families have counted on the support and services of their financial family…at Los Angeles Firemen’s Credit Union.

During the height of the Great Depression, a group of city firefighters decided to pool their funds into a cooperative financial institution that could provide members with a secure financial environment.

LAFCU is committed to providing its members with exceptional financial products and services, along with quality service. Attention to members’ needs and expectations has enabled us to grow from just over 800 members the first year, to 26,000 members today, with current assets over $800 million. At LAFCU, superior service is more than a goal; it is our mission.
